Household, health and pet — aisles 5 and 6
The last two aisles are the ones that keep the house running. Aisle 5 is pet food and cleaning; aisle 6 is health, baby, hardware and cards. Being able to pick up laundry detergent, diapers, dog food and a birthday card on the same trip as the groceries is most of the argument for shopping at a full-service store.
Aisle 5 — pet food, paper and cleaning
Cat and dog food, dry and canned, plus cat litter and picnic food are on the left. Facing them: bathroom tissue and paper towels in singles through to family packs, household cleaners, laundry detergent, dish soap, bleach and air fresheners.
Aisle 6 — health, baby and everything else
Over-the-counter remedies — pain relief, cold and flu, allergy, stomach — sit with shampoo, soap, deodorant, oral care and feminine hygiene. Diapers, wipes and baby care are on the same run.
The far side is the useful miscellany: greeting cards, party supplies, hardware — light bulbs, batteries, tape — garbage bags, and the smoked dog bones, which have earned their own line on the aisle sign.
