About us
An independent grocery store, run by the people in it
Irricana Family Foods is a Family Foods store owned and run by Ravindra Patel. It's a full grocery shop — fresh departments around the outside, six aisles down the middle, and the boring essentials nobody wants to make a second trip for.
Our story
What the store is, in plain terms
Irricana Family Foods trades under the Family Foods banner — an independent grocery group whose stores are owned and run locally rather than from a head office. The sunburst on the sign and the green department markers inside come from that group; the decisions about what goes on the shelves are made here.
The building is laid out the way grocery stores have been laid out for a century, because it still works. Produce is what you meet first. Meat, deli and dairy run around the back and the far wall, so the departments that need a person behind them are the ones you walk past. The middle is six numbered aisles of everything shelf-stable.
Beyond groceries there's an ATM inside the doors, U-Haul rentals, and a carpet cleaner you can rent by the day — the kind of small-town usefulness that a store becomes when it's the one people actually walk into.
A note on what's not on this page: no founding date, no years-in-business figure, no awards and no customer reviews. None of that has been supplied, and inventing it would be the easiest possible way to make a business look less trustworthy, not more. When there's a real story to tell here, it goes in this section.

Owned and operated by Ravindra Patel. For anything the front counter can't answer, the contact details are on the contact page.
How we work
Five things the store actually does
Not a values statement. A list of practices you can check against the shop next time you're in it.
Fresh, and worked at
Produce gets rotated and gone through rather than stocked once. Meat is cut here. Bread is baked here. Those are the parts of a grocery store that can't be faked, and they're the parts that take staff.
A complete shop
Six departments and six aisles, covering fresh, frozen, pantry, cleaning, health, baby and pet. A grocery run shouldn't turn into three errands.
Family-sized, on purpose
Family packs of chicken, the eighteen-egg carton, the big bag of potatoes, the multipack of bathroom tissue. The store is stocked for households, because that's who shops here.
Someone to actually ask
Ring the store and a person can walk over and look at the shelf. That's the one thing an independent store can offer that no app can, and it's worth protecting.
Stocked by request
The international shelf, the alternative snacks, the karak chai machine — those exist because people asked. Requests at the front counter are genuinely how the shelves get built.
Inside the store
Where everything lives
Say hello
Come in, or give us a ring
If there's something you'd like the store to carry, the front counter is the place to say so. It's how the international shelf and half the alternative snacks got there.
